NetXed Web Forms

Create, access and distribute forms across all departments and applications.

NetXed Forms is structured much like NetXed Reports. NetXed Forms allows you to build forms across any application, product, department or entity in the Enterprise. This is done with the following features in mind:

  • Security - Controls who can access which forms and what scope of data may be shown in lists on the form.
  • Organization - Forms are organized into groups (e.g. Auditing, Accounting, Human Resources, etc.) controlled through flexible menus and tied to Security.
  • Flexibility - Forms can be organized into classes accessible in flexible menus. Forms can access dynamic information to populate lists and other controls.
  • Dynamic - Preprocess and postprocess functions, and field level queries let the forms be tightly integrated with the overall data environment of your organization.
  • Data Management - NetXed Forms makes the data immediately available in a well structured database and ready for use.

Flexible form construction

NetXed® includes browser-based Admin pages to define the forms, control security, assign them to classes and menus, etc. Access to the Admin functions is part of the Security control.

NetXed creates a library of existing forms and fields. You may choose to use existing fields or create new ones, then order them on the form. Choose from fill in the blank, radio button, checkbox, drop down list box and other field types.

In addition, you can optionally define a preprocess and a postprocess for the form. These execute a predefined task on any computer, not just the webserver, to prepare or move the information before and after the form is submitted.

Individual fields can have queries assigned that execute and refresh the form giving a high degree of both context and data sensitivity.

Form Output

When a form is submitted the results are immediately stored in the main NetXed database in structured tables so the information is easy to extract or report on. You can easily determine what forms have been submitted, when and by whom. The form field data is stored in standardized records tied back to the submitted form with the sequence in the form. To facilitate extract and reporting, all data is written to a text column but numeric data is also stored in a numeric column in each record. Usually extracting form data is done by a scheduled process, but you can use the form's postprocess function to immediately send that form's information to another process.

Manage your list of forms
  • Define what forms are in the system.
  • Organize the forms into related groups and associate the groups under menus.
  • Control what security groups can access what menus and forms
  • Create unlimited views of branches, departments, personnel, accounts, etc. and access these views in a variety of ways as appropriate for each form.
  • Shows a list of forms submitted by the user in the last 30 days.
Security

NetXed forms includes a comprehensive security subsystem that lets you control not only who can access which features, but the scope of information they can view. The security model is group based with security tokens created to tie group members to the various features and functions.
