Branch Cash Management
Branch Cash - Asset and Liability
Branch cash is a necessity, an asset and a liability
all at the same time. Being a financial institution,
your branches have to service the currency needs of
your customers. While branch cash is an assest on the
books, it is a liability in the sense that it is a non
or very low earning asset. You must stock branch cash,
and you never want to run out, but carrying more than
you need simply erodes the bank's profitability with
no offsetting benefit.
New rules from the Federal Reserve, rising
interest rates and rising overhead costs to transport
cash all increase the importance of not carrying excess
cash.
High End Solutions
There are several sophisticated software solutions
to help banks manage and forecast cash requirements
in the branch network. Unfortunately, in terms of price
and implementation effort they are positioned as "high
end" solutions. For large financial institutions
the investment may be justified, but what about everyone
else? What about your bank?
Practical Solutions
Working with its bank clients, Point Enterprises
has developed a cost-effective and practical solution
to help manage and optimize branch cash. It fits within
the Enterprise Reporting infrastructure of NetXed
Reports or the StaffPro
teller staffing system. Users of NetXed Reports or StaffPro
can obtain the add-on modules and reports at no additional
cost. Contact Point
